Record #104060:

Discussion of recent work to develop a more realistic pressure-area model for ice / M.M. Winkler, J.F. Dorris.

Title: Discussion of recent work to develop a more realistic pressure-area model for ice / M.M. Winkler, J.F. Dorris.
Author(s): Winkler, M. M.
Dorris, J. F.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1990 - presented at ... Houston, Texas, February 18-23, 1990. Vol. 4. Arctic/polar technology. (1990.),
Abstract: Presents overview of development of crushing model for ice which is expected to provide accurate solution for small areas and upper bound for large areas where other modes of failure may occur. Applications showing why such a model is needed are discussed and expected pressure-area relationship is reviewed.
