Record #104048:

A straightforward technique for analysing structural response to dynamic ice action / T. Karna, R. Turunen.

Title: A straightforward technique for analysing structural response to dynamic ice action / T. Karna, R. Turunen.
Author(s): Karna, T.
Turunen, R.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1990 - presented at ... Houston, Texas, February 18-23, 1990. Vol. 4. Arctic/polar technology. (1990.),
Abstract: Offshore structures are occasionally subjected to sustained vibration due to crushing of ice sheets against them. Amplitude of vibration is shown to follow relationship which takes into account ice velocity and lowest frequency vibration mode of structure. Based on this, technique is proposed for design of structures subjected to ice-induced vibration.
