Ship icebreaking resistance with flooding water effect / S.L. Wang, C.C. Hsiung, C.R. Hazell.
Title: | Ship icebreaking resistance with flooding water effect / S.L. Wang, C.C. Hsiung, C.R. Hazell. |
Author(s): | Wang, S. L. Hsiung, C. C. Hazell, C. R. |
Date: | 1990. |
Publisher: | New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers |
In: | Proceedings of the Ninth International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering - 1990 - presented at ... Houston, Texas, February 18-23, 1990. Vol. 4. Arctic/polar technology. (1990.), |
Abstract: | System of cantilever beam on elastic foundation with flooding water on free end is used to simulate ice field. Distribution of flooding water is assumed to depend initially on time ratio and location. Effect of flooding water is determined by employing component mode synthesis and asymptotic expansions. Ship icebreaking resistance is computed by considering dynamic fracture and flooding water effect. |
