Abstract: | Basic dynamic interaction model which includes two degrees of freedom for structure and one for ice cover is described. By adjusting boundary conditions it is shown that it is capable of predicting results of laboratory uniaxial compressive tests. From analysis of results of uniaxial compressive test model runs, crack density failure criterion based upon temperature, grain size, and loading rate is proposed. Difficulties of employing model to full-scale indentation were addressed. |
