Record #104030:
Parameterization of heterogeneous flow in melting snow covers / P. Marsh.
Title: | Parameterization of heterogeneous flow in melting snow covers / P. Marsh. |
Author(s): | Marsh, P. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1990.), Vol. 71(28) (1990) |
Abstract: | Discusses problem of taking into account vertical unsaturated flux of water through snow, which often controls lag time between snowmelt and streamflow, and is highly variable over small and large scales. No large-scale hydrologic models account for this flow, although small-scale flow variability has been incorporated into experimental models. Parameterization techniques developed from these data might be scaled up to much larger areas for use in large-scale runoff models. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 71(28) :879 (1990). Abstract of paper presented at the 1990 Western Pacific Geophysics Meeting, held at Kanazawa, Japan, 21-25 August 1990. |
Keywords: | 551.579.2 -- Water supply from snow. 551.578.46 -- Snow cover and snow patches. 536.421.1 -- Melting. E11 -- Glaciology: glaciohydrology. |
