Record #104027:

Characterization of monthly precipitation patterns in mountainous regions / Jayne Dolph, Danny Marks, Don Phillips.

Title: Characterization of monthly precipitation patterns in mountainous regions / Jayne Dolph, Danny Marks, Don Phillips.
Author(s): Dolph, Jayne.
Marks, Danny.
Phillips, Don.
Date: 1990.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1990.), Vol. 71(28) (1990)
Abstract: Object of analysis was to create monthly time series of precipitation and runoff surfaces for two large hydrologic regions of western USA, using historical data, and to compare, spatially and temporally, relationship between precipitation data and runoff for variety of climatic conditions. Spring snowmelt is important component of annual runoff, but regions are distinctly different with regard to climate patterns and availabiity of precipitation and runoff data.
Notes:

Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 71(28) :878-879 (1990).

Abstract of paper presented at the 1990 Western Pacific Geophysics Meeting, held at Kanazawa, Japan, 21-25 August 1990.

Keywords: 551.579.2 -- Water supply from snow.
551.578.46 -- Snow cover and snow patches.
536.421.1 -- Melting.
