Volume contains 45 texts in Akkala dialect and six in Ter dialect (spoken by 80 and a few hundred people respectively), mainly with reference to Saami way of life, and songs, local legends, fairytales and descriptions of battles against enemies and intruders. Includes very detailed description of wedding in Ter dialect. Mixed marriages result in increasing use of Russian. With Russian translations of texts. |
