Record #103855:
Glacial stage ice-core records from the subtropical Dunde ice cap, China / Lonnie G. Thompson, and 9 others.
Title: | Glacial stage ice-core records from the subtropical Dunde ice cap, China / Lonnie G. Thompson, and 9 others. |
Author(s): | Thompson, Lonnie G. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990) |
Abstract: | First ice-core record of Holocene and Wisconsin/Würm late-glacial stage from subtropics has been extracted from three cores to bedrock. Ice thicknesses at summit of ice cap average 138 m. Analysis reveals major change in climate about 10 ka BP and suggests that late-glacial conditions were colder, wetter, and dustier than Holocene. Last 60 years were warmest in entire record. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 14 :288-297 (1990). |
