Record #103845:

The treatment of shortwave radiation and open water in large-scale models of sea-ice decay / Donald K. Perovich, Gary A. Maykut.

Title: The treatment of shortwave radiation and open water in large-scale models of sea-ice decay / Donald K. Perovich, Gary A. Maykut.
Author(s): Perovich, Donald K.
Maykut, Gary A.
Date: 1990.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990)
Abstract: Summer decay and retreat of sea ice is difficult to model because it is strongly influenced by shortwave radiation entering upper ocean through leads. Presents analytical model which overcomes many difficulties caused by this, and is stable regardless of time step, making it suitable for climate simulations.
