Record #103829:

Climatic change in a high-altitude Alpine area suggested by the isotopic composition of cold basal glacier ice / R.D. (Reginald D.) Lorrain, Wilfried Haeberli.

Title: Climatic change in a high-altitude Alpine area suggested by the isotopic composition of cold basal glacier ice / R.D. (Reginald D.) Lorrain, Wilfried Haeberli.
Author(s): Lorrain, R. D.
Haeberli, Wilfried.
Date: 1990.
In: Annals of Glaciology. (1990.), Vol. 14 (1990)
Abstract: For the first time, cold ice cover of summit in central Swiss Alps has been sampled from surface to bed for determining isotopic composition of δD and δ¹⁸O. Results of analyses show striking decrease of values with depth. May be due to substantial increase in meltwater percolation through firn since formation of deepest ice layer.
