Record #103519:
The warming effect of meridional sea ice transport on climate / Tamara Shapiro Ledley.
Title: | The warming effect of meridional sea ice transport on climate / Tamara Shapiro Ledley. |
Author(s): | Ledley, Tamara Shapiro. |
Date: | 1990. |
In: | CRREL Monograph. (1990.), Vol. 90-1 (1990) |
Abstract: | Coupled energy-balance climate/sea-ice model is used to examine effect of sea-ice transport on ocean/atmosphere energy exchange and atmospheric temperature. Results show that movement of sea ice thins pack ice in Arctic and Antarctic. Thinning produces larger lead fraction within ice pack, and longer period of ice-free conditions, which results in warmer conditions near poles. |
Notes: | CRREL Monograph. Vol. 90-1 :256-258 (1990). |
