Record #103268:

A laboratory comparison of field techniques for measurement of the liquid water fraction of snow / Harold S. Boyne, David J. Fisk.

Title: A laboratory comparison of field techniques for measurement of the liquid water fraction of snow / Harold S. Boyne, David J. Fisk.
Author(s): Boyne, Harold S.
Fisk, David J.
Date: 1990.
In: CRREL Special Report. (1990.), Vol. 90-3 (1990)
Abstract: Describes tests of measurement equivalence, in which three absolute methods of freezing calorimetry, alcohol calorimetry, and dilution are compared. Also compared are calibrated capacitrance snow moisture meter and one of the absolute methods. All comparisons were made in laboratory cold room using homogeneous snow with mass liquid water content that varied from zero to 14%.
Notes:

CRREL Special Report. Vol. 90-3 :ii, 8 p. (1990).

Keywords: 551.321.7 -- Snow cover, measurement of properties.
556 -- Hydrology.
551.579.2 -- Water supply from snow.
E3 -- Glaciology: instruments and methods.
