Record #103263:

Winter Antarctic mixed layer and sea ice evolution and open ocean convection / Douglas G. Martinson.

Title: Winter Antarctic mixed layer and sea ice evolution and open ocean convection / Douglas G. Martinson.
Author(s): Martinson, Douglas G.
Date: 1990.
Publisher: Bergen: Nansen Remote Sensing Center
In: Regional and Mesoscale Modeling of Ice Covered Oceans. Solstrand Fjord Hotel, 5200 Os, Norway, 23-27 October 1989. Workshop proceedings. (1990.),
Abstract: Describes analytical model developed to evaluate nature and role of dominant processes controlling wintertime ocean/sea-ice interactions of open ocean regions of Southern Ocean. Model is subset of more detailed one-dimensional numerical model and is useful in that it reveals system parameter dependence through model scalings. Scalings also provide computationally efficient means for parameterizing key processes for inclusion in large-scale climatic models.
