Constraints on the preservation of diamict facies (melt-out tills) at the margins of stagnant glaciers / M.A. Paul, Nicholas Eyles.

Title: Constraints on the preservation of diamict facies (melt-out tills) at the margins of stagnant glaciers / M.A. Paul, Nicholas Eyles.
Author(s): Paul, M. A.
Eyles, Nicholas.
Date: 1990.
In: Quaternary Science Reviews. (1990.), Vol. 9(1) (1990)
Abstract: Reviews formation and preservation of meltout tills generated in situ by downwasting of stagnant ice at margins of continental glaciers, based on geotechnical modelling of decay of perennially frozen ground in Arctic, which is directly applicable to stagnant glaciers, some published descriptions of meltout processes at modern glaciers, and observations in Iceland, Spitsbergen, and Canada.
Notes:

Quaternary Science Reviews. Vol. 9(1) :51-69 (1990).

Keywords: 551.332.212 -- Till or boulder clay.
551.345.2 -- Permafrost, formation and decay.
E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages.
(*41) -- Canada.
(*35) -- Iceland.
(*32) -- Svalbard.
(*324) -- Spitsbergen.
