| Abstract: | Characteristics of eastward drifting forms, previously described in literature as black aurorae, have been identified in low-light level TV camera data. It is proposed that these forms are manifestation of folds or waves on borders of auroral bands propagating along dark regions between neighbouring auroral bands. Observations at Skibotn, north Norway, in January 1980. |
