Record #102919:

Characteristics of wave-particle interactions during sudden commencements 1. Ground-based observations / W.B. Gail, and 6 others.

Title: Characteristics of wave-particle interactions during sudden commencements 1. Ground-based observations / W.B. Gail, and 6 others.
Author(s): Gail, W. B.
Date: 1990.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1990.), Vol. 95(A1) (1990)
Abstract: Reports study to quantitatively characterize changes in ELF-VLF wave activity and ionospheric absorption associated with sudden commencements (sc) using data from one northern and five Antarctic ground stations. Establishes an observational basis for understanding how wave-particle interactions in the magnetosphere are affected by dynamic variations in the magnetic field and plasma. Data observed from spacecraft reported in pp.139-147 of same issue.
Notes:

Journal of Geophysical Research. Vol. 95(A1) :119-137 (1990).

Keywords: 550.383 -- Geomagnetism, basic analysis.
551.510.536 -- Exosphere.
A -- Geophysical sciences (general).
(*7) -- Antarctic regions.
