| Abstract: | Aim of seasonal ice zone programme (SIZEX) is to develop ice forecasting for Barents Sea based on input from satellite data, especially ERS-1 SAR. Pre-ERS-1 experiment was carried out in February 1989, when ERS-1 data was simulated by airborne SAR with 3-day repeat cycle, as for ERS-1 orbit. Data set included atmospheric, snow, ocean, and acoustic variables necessary to test algorithms for ice kinematics, classification, and concentration. |
