| Abstract: | Data collected March 1988 over Beaufort, Chukchi and Bering seas with airborne synthetic aperture radar. Preliminary investigations concentrated on ice-type discrimination and characterization in digital images. Techniques for deriving polarimetric parameters from Stokes matrix are being used to deduce scattering mechanisms and relate them to physical or chemical propoerties of snow or ice. |
