Fetch sensitivity in bulk-transfer estimates of turbulent heat flux from leads in sea ice / James A. Maslanik, Jeffrey R. Key.

Title: Fetch sensitivity in bulk-transfer estimates of turbulent heat flux from leads in sea ice / James A. Maslanik, Jeffrey R. Key.
Author(s): Maslanik, James A.
Key, Jeffrey R.
Date: 1990.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1990.), Vol. 71(2) (1990)
Abstract: Models for climate studies calculate turbulent heat fluxes from leads using bulk transfer coefficients that are not adjusted for fetch and stability. Objectives were to (1) estimate significance of using fetch-adjusted transfer coefficients, and (2) determine how lead width means, as well as observed and theoretical lead distributions, can be used better to estimate fluxes over large areas.
Notes:

Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 71(2) :100 (1990).

Abstract of paper to be presented at 1990 Ocean Sciences Meeting, February 12-16, 1990, New Orleans, Louisiana.
