| Abstract: | Authors put case for support station in I.C.Jacobsen Fjord, giving sketch of terrain and weather and some cost figures for hiring boats, helicopters or light 'planes in present unsupported conditions. They give details of their own persistent efforts over previous 16 years, delays, extra costs and even failure to arrive. Area is full of interest and is used more and more for summer research, so station would be welcome and give some expeditions their only chance to take place. |
