Abstract: Author describes general weather picture on east coast of Greenland, with effects of Denmark Strait and Inland Ice added to moving fronts or depressions. "Fjord gale" is particularly strong, comparable to winds of Antarctica, and was observed by British expeditions. Classic infra-red photo of such a gale is shown. Meteorologists' birthday lists include couple of automatic weather stations in fjord.
