| Abstract: | Published in 1992. Deformation measurements carried out in central part of accumulation area. From measured strain rates and stress conditions in situ, constitutive equation for temperate firn was derived as function of snow density. Equation is composed of two parts: first describes changes in shape with constant volume, and second describes changes in volume with constant shape. Constitutive equation reduces to Glen's flow law for incompressible ice as limiting case. |
