Record #101832:

Parameterization of melt rate and surface temperature on the Greenland ice sheet / Niels Reeh.

Title: Parameterization of melt rate and surface temperature on the Greenland ice sheet / Niels Reeh.
Author(s): Reeh, Niels.
Date: 1989[pub. 1991]
In: Polarforschung. (1989[pub. 1991]), Vol. 59(3) (1989[pub. 1991])
Abstract: Shows that parameterizations of mean annual and mean July air temperatures combined with snow- and ice-melt model, which relates melt to positive degree days, provide fairly accurate description of present melt rates and 10 m surface temperatures, as far as these quantities are known today. Besides providing necessary surface boundary conditions for ice-sheet dynamic model studies, model has been used to estimate total surface mass balance of ice sheet and sensitivity of this to climatic change. Some improvements to model are suggested.
