Abstract: Reports investigation of 16 species, sampled from between 200 and 2000 m depth in eastern and south-eastern Weddell Sea, and studied in aquaria. Emphasis placed on determination of various parameters such as pH, pO₂, pCO₂ (partial pressure of O₂ and CO₂), Hb (haemoglobin), RBC (red blood cells) as well as on structural and functional studies of Hb.
