Abstract: | Discusses ethnogenesis of Ainu people in light of findings at burial ground on Shikotan (Kuriles). Uses genetic links between ancestors of Ainu and other ethnic groups to conclude that nucleus of Ainu ethnocultural community was formed in inner Asia and subsequently influenced by North Mongolian tribes of eastern Siberia. |
