Abstract: Collection of articles which discuss aspects of monitoring geosystems ie observing environmental changes as result of economic development. Articles are grouped in four main sections: 1. geosystems as subject for monitoring; considers interrelation of population, economy and nature and environmental protection. 2. Scientific principles for methodology; explains four main types of observations and studies: retrospective , comparative, regime reflecting annual fluctuations of conditions and methodological. 3. Geographical variants in geosystems monitoring. Identifies and describes geographical areas, including tundra, tayga, lakes, forests etc. 4. Geosystems modelling as method of control and forecasting their state.
