| Abstract: | Reviews long-term changes and discusses homogeneity of precipitation records (1845-). Changes in precipitation gauges, relocations of stations and other environmental changes are significant for interpretation of records. Taking into account main sources of inhomogeneity, some general features of changes in precipitation can be shown: long-term decrease in southern Finland and recent increase in central parts of country; changes in north have been small. Includes bar graphs of annual precipitation and 30-year unweighted moving averages at Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Sodankylá stations, 1881-1988. |
