Abstract: Double Fence Intercomparison Reference (octagonal vertical double-fence shield surrounding Tretyakov precipitation gauge) is suitable as reference gauge against which snow gauges can be compared. Preliminary results confirm predominant influence of wind causing gauge catch deficiencies.
