| Abstract: | Analyzes 20 years of parallel measurements of winter precipitation (October to April) by means of storage gauges and of water equivalent of snow cover as on 1 May, at 18 locations between 1300 and 2800 m a.s.l. in Linth-Limmern basin, Switzerland. Above 2300 m, winter precipitation is stored as snow. Assuming water equivalent to be true, correction factors for storage gauge values are generally too low due to wind-induced undercatch. High variability of values reflects individual nature of each location. |
