Climate variation and ice conditions in the river Torneälven / Gun Zachrisson.
Title: | Climate variation and ice conditions in the river Torneälven / Gun Zachrisson. |
Author(s): | Zachrisson, Gun. |
Date: | 1989. |
Publisher: | Helsinki: Valtion Painatuskeskus |
In: | Conference on Climate and Water, Helsinki, Finland, 11-15 September 1989, convened by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). (1989.), Vol. 1. |
Abstract: | River in Sweden is subject to severe and even disastrous breakups, associated with rapid increase in water level. Study of connection between breakup date and air temperature was inconclusive; breakups may be caused by man-made changes within drainage basin, e.g. forestry practices, removal of dams, and not by climatic change. |
Notes: | In: Conference on Climate and Water, Helsinki, Finland, 11-15 September 1989, convened by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Vol. 1. / Leena Huttunen, ed. |
