Record #101337:

Quaternary geology of the Atlantic Appalachian region of Canada / Douglas R. Grant.

Title: Quaternary geology of the Atlantic Appalachian region of Canada / Douglas R. Grant.
Author(s): Grant, Douglas R.
Date: 1989.
Publisher: Ottawa: Geological Survey of Canada
In: Quaternary geology of Canada and Greenland. (1989.),
Abstract: Deals with south-east Canada: Newfoundland, Maritime Provinces, Gaspésie peninsula of Quebec, and Gulf of St Lawrence area. Studies in each of these areas have been carried out largely independently, and correlations remain tenuous. During last 15 years, original concept has been revalidated of coalescent local ice caps during Wisconsinan, most deposits and features reflecting this. Only in northern Gulf of St Lawrence is pattern of simpler unidirectional movement suggested by landforms. Discusses economic considerations. Bibliography.
Notes:

In: Quaternary geology of Canada and Greenland / R.J. Fulton, ed.

Published as part of the Decade of North American Geology (DNAG) Project. Also one of nine volumes making up latest (seventh) edition of Geology of Canada.
