| Abstract: | Describes two-dimensional ice force panels (TIP), which measure total load applied over front plate, regardless of how load is distributed. Capable of measuring tangential ice force component acting parallel to water-line, in addition to normal force. During winter 1989, continuous record of ice forces acting on lighthouse in northern Bay of Bothnia was obtained over four-week period with three TIP panels. First results are presented.
