| Abstract: | Data obtained on snow and ice thickness, salinity, density, crystal shape and ice strength from 12 locations within area, which included level ice, pressure ridges, and rafted and hummocked ice. Origin of ice is discussed based on studies of vertical thin sections. Index values of ice strength were obtained from pressuremeter tests carried out at six holes drilled at each station. Presence of weak ice is noted. Discussion, p. 1590. |
