| Abstract: | Focuses on regeneration of soil and vegetation cover in hummocky tundra with unsorted circles in mountainous area of Chukotka. Morphology, soils and vegetation before fire are analyzed in detail and presents analyses of situation three and seven years after fire. Recovery was found to be significantly slower than in closed tundra: vegetation recovered less than half as fast and soil profile only one tenth as fast. |
