Abstract: High-speed digital data acquisition system was developed for use with ice radars, and low-frequency short-pulse ice radar originally developed for temperate glaciers was adapted for surface based investigations of ice sheets. This new ice-radar system was used on ice streams B and C to study internal layering and basal conditions. Results discussed: B is active and flowing fast, whereas C is relatively inactive.
