Abstract: Ice jams were contributing factor in 42 major floods recorded over last 180 years. Hydroclimatic characteristics of basin are reviewed and shown to produce both mid-winter and spring breakups. Model for breakup prediction is reviewed and results from ice-jam analysis are presented.
