Meltwater channels and their potential for palaeogeographical reconstruction / D.Yu. Bol'shiyanov, S.R. Verkulich.

Title: Meltwater channels and their potential for palaeogeographical reconstruction / D.Yu. Bol'shiyanov, S.R. Verkulich.
Author(s): Bol'shiyanov, D. Yu.
Verkulich, S. R.
Verkulin, S. R.
Date: 1989.
Language: Russian transliteration entered into original records using BGN/PCGN 1947 romanisation of Russian; Cyrillic text in MARC 880 field(s) reverse transliterated from this by automated process; BGN/PCGN 1947 text then upgraded to Library of Congress romanisation.
In: Polar Geography and Geology. (1989.), Vol. 13(4) (1989)
Abstract: Unusual channels, empty of water and unrelated to present drainage network, have been mapped on Severnaya Zemlya, where glacial moraines are noticeably lacking. Three types of channels are identified; all appear to be glacial meltwater channels: either marginal, superimposed, or in third, as yet unexplained, category where they run at right angles to former ice margins. Results suggest maximum glaciation here was in Late Pleistocene.
