Abstract: Details of Soviet vessel, Vaydagubskiy, built by Wártsilá yard in Turku, Finland, in 1986. Designed not only for dredging but also for liquidating results of possible accidents in off-shore oil-mining. It can be used for fire combat, and reception of bilge or other polluted water and its separation. Vaydagubskiy skimmed some 300,000 litres of oil residues and suspensions off sea surface in wake of Exxon Valdez disaster. USSR Ministry of Merchant Marine and US Coast Guard are working on agreement to cooperate in combating pollution in Bering and Chukchi seas.
