Title: Компактность финно-угорской языковой семьи по данным консонантного коэффициента
Title, transliterated: Kompaktnostʹ finno-ugorskoĭ i︠a︡zykovoĭ semʹi po dannym konsonantnogo koėffit︠s︡ienta / I︠U︡.A. Tambort︠s︡ev.
Translated title: The compactness of the Finno-Ugric language family according to the data of the consonantal coefficient.
Author(s): Tambort︠s︡ev, I︠U︡. A.
Date: 1989.
Language: Russian.
In: Linguistica Uralica. (1989.), Vol. 26(1) (1989)
Abstract: Ratio of consonants to vowels in speech chains (consonantal coefficient) is powerful typological feature for showing compactness of language families, which is calculated as inverse to standard deviation. Compactness of Finno-Ugric language family (which is not high) is compared with that of Samoyedic, Tungus-Manchurian and Turkic language families, as well as with Uralic, Altaic and Ural-Altaic language unities.
