Abstract: Landsat images were used to map ice distributions along navigable portions of waterway from Mississippi River to Lake Michigan, and air temperature and discharge data were used to characterize conditions in which observed ice formed and changed. Presence or absence of ice on adjacent water bodies (lakes, channels, sloughs) is also discussed, but not mapped.
