Record #100156:

Unfrozen water contents of six Antarctic soil materials / Duwayne M. Anderson, Allen R. Tice.

Title: Unfrozen water contents of six Antarctic soil materials / Duwayne M. Anderson, Allen R. Tice.
Author(s): Anderson, Duwayne M.
Tice, Allen R.
Date: 1989.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Civil Engineers
In: Cold Regions Engineering. Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference. (1989.),
Abstract: Presents phase composition data for six saline Antarctic soils. Unfrozen water contents vs temperature were determined for these soils in naturally occurring state and for same soils after all soluble constituents were leached out. Large differences observed. In natural state, saline soils retain significant quantities of unfrozen water at very low temperatures.
Notes:

In: Cold Regions Engineering. Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference / Radoslaw L. Michalowski, ed.

Keywords: 551.345.3 -- Permafrost, composition and structure. Ice wedges.
E8 -- Glaciology: frost action and permafrost.
(*7) -- Antarctic regions.
SPRI record no.: 100156
