Record #100019:

Effect of backfill properties and surface treatment on the capacity of adfreeze pipe piles / D.C. Sego, L.B. Smith.

Title: Effect of backfill properties and surface treatment on the capacity of adfreeze pipe piles / D.C. Sego, L.B. Smith.
Author(s): Sego, D. C.
Smith, L. B.
Date: 1989.
In: Canadian Geotechnical Journal. (1989.), Vol. 26(4) (1989)
Abstract: Presents results of laboratory-scale tests to establish modifications to current construction procedures that would be most effective in increasing pile capacity. Results indicate that properties of backfill (ice content, salinity, size of annulus) have greater influence on short-term pile capacity than properties of native soil.
Notes:

Canadian Geotechnical Journal. Vol. 26(4) :718-725 (1989).

Keywords: 624.139.62 -- Permafrost control.
624.15 -- Foundations.
E12 -- Glaciology: frozen ground / snow and ice engineering.
