The Shackleton Memorial Library - Progress Report 1

The Shackleton Memorial Library - Progress Report 1

In this first installment, I can give you the beginning of the story, and to tell you that the demolition of much of the "new" building has taken place. However, what you will be able to see from the front entrance is only the temporary roof erected to keep the rain out of the works. If you want to see what has happened in the way of demolition, come to the "Members' Viewing Window", where you will see where the walls or bulkheads were, where part of the library used to be, and the hole which will eventually be the basement to the new library.

In the meantime, watch this space for further information about the library and the rest of the complex, how we got to where we are, where we are headed from here, and why an American sea captain, now ashore, is writing this paper!
