An evening with Peter Hillary

An evening with Peter Hillary

Wednesday 20th April, 2005 at 7.30pm

at The Scott Polar Research Institute, Lensfield Rd, Cambridge

The Friends of the Scott Polar Research Institute are delighted to host a rare opportunity to meet one of New Zealand's best known adventurers and speakers.

Peter Hillary has climbed Everest twice, survived K2, skied a new route to the South Pole, summited Antarctica's Mt Vinson and even touched down at the geographic North Pole with his father, Ed Hillary, and Neil Armstrong! This evening's talk will be a collection of ripping yarns from a member of one of the world's most famous families of high adventure.

Following the talk a reception in the Institute will allow guests the chance to meet Peter. His latest book 'In the Ghost Country' - a haunting biographical story set against the vast blank of the Polar Plateau during his ski trip to the South Pole - will be available

The evening's proceeds will be donated to the William Mills Library Acquisitions Fund.
