Established in 1946, the Friends support the research and heritage work of the Institute. We are proud of our vibrant membership and worldwide community, and care passionately about the Arctic and Antarctic.

With the support of its Friends, the Institute undertakes cutting edge polar research. And our Artist in Residence programme uniquely sends contemporary artists to both the Arctic and Antarctic.
