Outside of SPRI / CPOM, my interests include music, travel, walking,
running
,
reading, museums ..
My main musical instrument has been the violin, which I
played in the Cornwall Youth Orchestra. I also play the bass guitar and have
been in a small number of groups – mainly for work Christmas
entertainments, but also in public. More recently, I have taken up with the
mandolin, it being the same tuning as the violin and more readily suitable for
practising without annoying the neighbourhood and its cats and
dogs!
From November 1995 to March 1997, I was travelling around the
world: SE Asia, Oz/NZ, Mexico, Central and South America, Antarctica, Cuba.
Whilst travelling, I managed to walk a number of trails, such as the Routeburn
and Milford Tracks, Abel Tasman NP, Tongariro NP in NZ; Taman Negara, Malaysia.
Back in the UK, I’ve done some walking on the Coast-to-Coast trail, as
well as completing the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William. Whilst
out-and-about, I’ll often take a camera to record the landscapes, sunsets,
etc. Here's a selection of pictures taken during my travels:
