Biography

Christina Rozeik read Philosophy at the University of Cambridge and then trained as an objects conservator at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. She has worked as a project conservator on the redisplay of the Egyptian and Greek & Roman galleries at the Fitzwilliam Museum, and at the Royal Institution, where she conserved objects as diverse as a Wimshurst machine, Michael Faraday's experimental induction coils and a boomerang used in one of the Institution's Christmas lectures! She has a particular interest in conservation outreach and publication, and was the founding editor of IIC's bi­monthly, international conservation newspaper, News in Conservation. She was also responsible for the maintenance of IIC's website, database and server and in 2008 managed the development and relaunch of the IIC website.

Research

Christina's current research focuses on the relationship between the conservation profession and the public, and she is carrying out PhD research at UCL into the public image and understanding of museum conservation in the UK. More information about this project can be found on the UCL website.
