| Full description: |
Parka: Man's, outer. Made from commercially tanned caribou skin with the cream, white and light brown hair to the exterior. Front is made from basically one main piece; back is made from one piece which extends to form back of attached hood. Additional pieces are added to the shoulders and each side. Face opening is bordered with ruff of wolf skin. Blue fabric casing is inserted into the seam between the ruff and the hood. Light brown tie (shoelace?) is threaded around casing emerging through two holes under chin. Ends of the sleeves are lined with white sheep skin. Narrow fringe of white polar bear fur is sewn around the bottom edge. Structural sewing is with waxed thread and white and black cotton thread. Line of blue ink on interior centre front, centre back and hood. 550/- (blue ink), 365 /= (red ink) on interior of back. "Left top", "B" in blue ink on ruff. |
