Full description:

Carving (a) and base (b): Carving of a Bird in flecked light green and brown soapstone. Carved with outstretched curved wings. Head and beak turned to the left with incised eyes, pupils and nostrils. Syllabics carved on underside. Two metal pegs at centre of rectangular black plastic? base correspond to holes on underside of bird. Black felt glued to underside of base. Rectangular metal plaque attached to front of base. In Memory of Brian Roberts. 1912~1978.
