| Note: | Limted edition print, 45 of 1000. This is a view of the restored interior of Ernest Shackleton's hut at Cape Royds, Ross Island. Built in February 1908, this hut served as headquarters for the British (Nimrod) Expedition of 1907-09. Among the expedition's achievements were the first ascent of Mt Erebus (12,464 ft), a sledging journey to within 97 miles of the South Pole, and also the first traverse which reached the South Magnetic Pole. |
